Ageless music genius Bappi da will once again make his mark with new-age music.
In other words, Disco Pioneer Bappi Lahiri brings R.N.B. music to India. This time, with an international album with T Series titled My Love. With eight unique tracks, the album boasts of two exotic videos shot in New York and Sydney. The T Series album sees Bappi da come out with a new style of music as well, with Bappi da’s voice and US-based rapper Jiddah rapping.
The first video ‘Phoolon Se Pooncho’ is international in every sense, right from the pretty foreign faces to the international quality music। Shot lavishly in international shores, the song is a youthful peppy number, a la Bappi da style.

The second video ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’ is a song that is in quest of his love, and is a retro timeless number captured beautifully in moving frames।

Looks like Bappi da is now going to give tough competition to the youngsters in the music scene with his melody fare in T Series’ My Love.

Aalim clubs fitness with style this time! Opens salon within True Fitness

Aalim Hakim, Raj Rao and Nicholas of True Fitness hosted a party for the Celebrity hair stylist and Bollywood’s favourite make over guru Aalim who launched his latest ‘Express salon’ within the largest fitness club, True Fitness in the suburbs on Friday night.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that whatever he does, Aalim surely does it with panache! And that’s why his parties never seem to be like anything lesser than a movie premiere by itself with the entire brigade of Bollywood stars and media galore, while the shutterbugs have a field day। This time too, it was more than impressive!
Riteish Deshmukh who was one of the earliest to walk in got a quick hair styling done at the salon while Emraan Hashmi walked in dressed in casuals.
But the man who made the night special was our very own Salman Khan who was greeted with a roar of delight from the crowd. He made a solo entry much before brother Arbaaz Khan arrived with Sanjay Kapoor. Dressed in a black shirt, gold studded belt and hair slid back into a pony tail, we couldn’t help notice Sallu’s style statement. Although his eyes looked tired, never did the charming and mischievous smile leave his face even for a moment. Quickly having checked out the salon and posing for the shutterbugs, he made a quick getaway leaving the media hungry for more.
But soon to pep them was Saif Ali Khan who strode in alone, dressed in a crisp pink shirt and looking a million bucks (as always?!) Saif too stayed for a while but made his way out faster than we expected. But a little birdie tells us that it was because his lady love Kareena Kapoor was waiting for him in the car!

All the guests were personally escorted by Aalim who took them through the entire salon, the ‘magnificent’ fitness club, yoga center and spa along with an exceptionally co-operating team from the club and salon!
Some of the other guests included Emran Hashmi, Suniel Shetty, Tusshar Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Mithun Chakraborthy, Sonu Sood, Subhash Ghi, Paritosh Painter, Vishal Bharadwaj, Imtiaz Ali, choreographer Bosco, Chunkey Pandey, Kamaal Khan (who entered in his signature bright shades, red this time),Raza Murad with son, Brinda PArekh, Zulfi Sayed, Shawar Ali, Jagdish Mali, Vatsal Sheth, A.D Singh, Shibani Kashyap, Akshay Kapoor, Bhavna Pani, chef Sanjeev Kapoor and many more.
With our bolywood milling around around, our tv stars were not far behind. Dipsshikha was seen showing off her new her tattoo done by Aalim himself. Balwinder Singh Suri, Delnaaz with the Paul brothers, Rohit Roy, Karan Mehra, Siddharth Kannan, Saadiya Siddiqui, Chitrapama Bannerjee were there too.
The Indian starters made their way through pina coladas, while it was Thai cuisine for main course. Finally, the entire team celebrated the launch of the new salon, with Aalim cutting a cake!

“This is my third salon in the city and having it as a part of the gym this time is a novel and exciting concept. I have taken it a step further by concentrating on wellness and not just styling. This place is like a complete package to a blissful life. I believe it’s going to be an overall experience. ” says Aalim.
Needless to say all the roads did lead to Andheri on Friday night, while the B-Town brigade turned up in full force to congratulate their favourite scissor man this time too!
Well talk about making it royal, Aalim takes it to the hilt!

Neela Telefilms comedy show -Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah is one show that not just tickles the funny bone of the viewer, but also advocates moral values without being preachy. So, on the occasion of Anti-Tobacco Day the cast of Taarak Mehta teamed up with one of the India’s largest NGOs in tobacco control- ‘Salaam Bombay’. The cast of the show showed its full support to hold up the noble cause of “Smoke-free Mumbai”. They went all out to educate the masses that have been unfortunately caught up in this vicious circle.

Producer Asit Kumarr Modi shares, “Our endeavor has always been to provide meaningful entertainment. We have always tried to put forward social messages through our show. On the occasion of Anti -Tobacco Day, which is celebrated all over the world on 31 st May, we thought of incorporating this social awareness campaign through our medium. It was educating for us too and many people I know have decided to give up this habit post the shoot.”

Joining in the campaign will be seen Dayaben along with Tapu sena and Taarak- Anjali. They went on the streets and targeted people who were either smoking or chewing tobacco. In a very interesting and informative manner, they explained the ill-effects of passive smoking. They were quite successful in spreading the awareness among the people and encouraged them to say 'No' to Tobacco’.

हालिया प्रदर्शित अपने आईटम सांग से सुपरहिट हुई भोजपुरी फिल्म दरोगा जी चोरी हो गईल में भोजपुरी फिल्मों के सम्राट मनोज तिवारी, सुदीप पांडे्य और विनीत कुमार के साथ लीजा ने भोजपुरी फिल्मों में पर्दापण किया। नृत्य उनका पहला और आखिरी शौक था और शायद यही कारण है कि जब दबा ले, दबा ले, दबा ले, हमारी गिलौरी दबा ले... का छांयाकन हुआ तो सेट पर मौजूद लोगों ने दांतो तले अंगुली दबा ली और लीजा का यह पहला गीत ही भोजपुरी फिल्मों में एक इतिहास बन गया।

भोजपुरी फिल्मों के पंडितों के लिहाज से इस फिल्म की सफलता का सारा श्रेय इस आइटम सांग को ही जाता है और उनके अनुसार आइटम सांग की इस भोजपुरीया इंडस्ट्री में लीजा एक नई संभावना बनकर उभरी है।

देश का दिल कहे जाने वाली दिल्ली से मिस दिल्ली का खिताब जीतने वाली लीजा के पैरों में कक्षा तीन से ही थिरकन होती थी। स्कूल, कालेज के सारे नृत्य के कार्यक्रमों में वो अव्वल रही और फिर सोने की लोकप्रिय कार्यक्रम बुगी-बुगी में अपने नृत्य के जौहर लीजा ने दिखाए। दिल्ली में इतना सब करने के बाद अब दिल्ली में लीजा का दिल भर गया था और मुंबई अब उनके लिए कोई दूर भी नहीं था।

मुंबई आकर लीजा ने तमाम टीवी कामर्शियल में काम किया, स्टेज शोज किए और फिर उनका पहला एलबम रिलीज हुई चिक्स आन फायर, जिसने सफलता की हदों को पार किया। उसके बाद तो लीजा के कैरियर की गाड़ी राजधानी की रफ्तार से दौड़ने लगी। आओ ना और मिका द्वारा रिमिक्स और उन्हीं पर लीजा के साथ फिल्माया गया सिम्पली लीजा सफलता के सारे मानदंड़ों को पार कर गया।

इसी दौरान निर्देशक विक्रम भट्ट की लीजा पर नजर पड़ी और उन्होंने उसे सोनी टीवी पर प्रसारित हो रहे डायरेक्टस कट कट 10 की एक कहानी में एक केंद्रीय किरदार दे डाला, जो काफी सराहा भी गया।

डांसिंग क्वीन मं लीजा ने अपने लुभावने नृत्य से सभी को लुभा लिया और फिर जब मौका भोजपुरी फिल्म में आइटम सांग का आया तो उसने उसे भी स्वीकार किया और हिट कर सिद्ध कर दिया कि कला किसी भाषा की मोहताज नहीं होती और शायद इसी कारण इतने थोड़े समय में लीजा भोजपुरी फिल्मों की एक नई संभावना बनकर उभरी है।

Mithun re-launches Mimoh in Salim’s “The Murderer”

The versatile actor Mithun Chakraborty is re-launching his son, Mimoh Chakraborty through one of the oldest and the reputed entertainment company, Aftab Pictures (P) Ltd. which is in existence since almost four decades. The film is titled as The Murderer. Producer Salim Akhtar is the Managing Director of Aftab Pictures (P) Ltd., who started out as a film distributor in 1972 in Kolkata. In 1977 he purchased the world rights of Amitabh – Waheeda starrer Adalat, before producing his first film Choron Ki Baarat in 1977 with Shatrughan Sinha and Neetu Singh in the lead. Then followed the multi-starrer film Batwara, Badal, Baazi, Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat and so on, with 31 films in his kitty as a producer. The Murderer is his new venture which has all the commercial ingredients, be it drama, music, dance, action and thrills and sure to hit the pot of gold.

The Murderer is a musical thriller with a nail-biting finish. Mimoh Chakraborty a.k.a. Rocky has a full-fledged performance oriented role in the film. He plays a successful pop singer in Hotel Hamilton Palace. He is basically popular with girls; all wanting to befriend him. Monalisa a.k.a. Neha is his co-performer and is silently in love with Rocky. Unaware of her feelings, Rocky treats her as his best friend. There is one more girl, Simran a.k.a. Mahima is madly in love with him. But Rocky is in love with Priyanka, who plays Madhu and is a guest staying in the hotel. Neha is jealous of Rocky’s love affair…. The love triangle heats up when Mahima spurned by Rocky, commits suicide. Rocky is filled with guilt due to this unfortunate incident. But before he could regain his composure, Rocky finds himself in a plethora of chaos and tries to prove his innocence…. There are fast paced action and complex developments and Rocky is trying to come out of this knotty situation…

Mimoh Chakraborty, new find Simran, Madhu, Monalisa, Raza Murad, Milind Gunaji, Vishwajit Pradhan, Shanti Priya, Sheela Sharma with Shakti Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana are in the cast.

Being produced by Salim, the film is directed by veteran Raj N. C. Sippy. Based on a script by Ranbir Pushp, the film has cinematography by S. Pappu, choreography by Chinni Prakash, art by Pappu Mishra, action by Mahmood Akbar Bakshi and editing by M. Rafique. Lyrics are penned by Ibrahim Ashq while Sohail Sen has provided the musical composition. Shama Akhtar is the co-producer while Samad Akhtar is the associate producer. Ismail Darbar may be in the eye of a storm but the veteran music-maker behind evergreen film melodies in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas is unperturbed. “Controversies have always been my middle name,” says the music maker. “But when it comes on your izzat, you cannot sit quietly and take things lying down.”

Ismail Darbar refers to the story in a tabloid where they accused him of being responsible for Sa Re Ga Ma contestant Poonam Yadav’s supposed pregnancy, abortion and a suicide attempt that followed. Incidentally, the journalist spoke to Ismail Darbar when he was performing his mother’s last rites, and called him a pretender and went ahead and printed the story based on a phone call without even bothering to contact Poonam or her mother.

Poonam Yadav is angry at her character assassination by the tabloid and fiery when she stands by Ismail Darbar refuting the baseless accusation. “Ismail Darbar and Ayesha Darbar (Ismail’s wife) have been my pillar of strength and support. I am from a very poor family and they gave me money, bought my clothes and treated me like one of their own children. Every Id and Diwali, I would get clothes like their kids and when I had no money, they would take care. If I wanted to eat something, Ayesha would prepare the dish for me. The last few months, I was so stuck with financial trouble that I did not see it right contacting my mentors as I did not want the call to be mistaken as a call for help. I have to stand on my own now and make my future and not trouble Ismail or Ayesha Darbar with my problems. It was one day when I was upset and tired after spending sleepless nights on my financial troubles when, I took an overdose of sleeping pills to sleep, not realising the severity of it. I woke up two days later at the hospital to see Sir’s name being dragged into an alleged controversy not even an alphabet of which was true. Couldn’t the so-called journalists have waited for two days for me to regain consciousness? At least they could have talked to my doctor if not me!”

Yadav is sure she neither had nor has any intention to die. “It is people who write things like this that should worry about suicide, not me. I was depressed due to poor financial conditions and the fact that my house fell in land which would be taken away by the government when I had just spent a lot to make it pucca, This is a lot for a girl like me who has to shoulder a lot of burden from childhood. It is appalling that the junta gets to read untruths from two senseless so-called journalists who misused their pen to malign my character. Didn’t the women, Bharati Dubey or Ashwini Deshmukh of Mumbai Mirror even think twice about penning such cheap things about my mentor and me? If not as tabloid journalists, as least as women, they should have thought twice.”
Says Darbar, “she said once on the show that her father died when she was still in her mother’s womb. I told her in the show that day that I am your father from today. I will see that you achieve your dreams. I don’t make statements in the air. I say what I feel,” says Ismail Darbar who is known to never mince words.

Darbar is angry at journalists who resort to cheap yellow journalism to sell tabloids. “It is quality that makes you sell. Not cheapness,” says Darbar who has sued the paper for Rs 25 crore. “I am a respectable man, a father of five children. I have three teenaged kids who have to face the world. My sisters are getting questions from their in-laws. Why? Who is responsible for this? And what right do people have to accuse and write on people without proof? Even if they did write without investigating properly, post my notice and the realisation that the news was false the paper should have clarified and restored my dignity, and they failed to do so. What score did they have to settle? Since they did not think twice before tarnishing my image, I will stop at nothing now,” thunders Darbar who unlike his fiery self, kept mum till the time he found out that Poonam had no affair or abortion and the sleeping pill overdose was done in a fit of depression. “They accused that I had an affair, was responsible for her abortion, that I got her a flat in Mumbai, went with her to Varanasi… what not! So much muck thrown at my reputation without even an ounce of truth! How dare they? Still, in this case, it was a matter of a girl’s life, her izzat. I had promised I would take care of her life, her future as her deceased father would have. And my anger and usual fiery self would not have helped her. I did not know if she really had an affair with some local boy and had an abortion and did that trauma make her take a drastic step to try and end her life. Those questions could only be answered by Poonam, and no one else. Only she could clear my name as I was completely innocent.. My entire family prayed for her, and I asked my wife to call and enquire the truth post her coming into her senses. When she revealed that in her life, there was neither and affair or an abortion, I decided to go ahead and say what I was suppressing all along. If this girl had died, I would have had to spend my entire life telling people I was framed. At least today, she came out thanks to Allah, and is speaking out,” storms Darbar who feels that even if he weren’t Ismail Darbar the personality, he would still stand up for what is right. “zulm sehna bhi utna hi gunaah hai jitna ki karna,” he says. “I will make sure I get justice and so does Poonam. We are people not pawns.”

priyanshu chatterjee is back with a morder mystry

It is an interesting and engaging flick. A thriller with characters who shuffle between time zones in the mind of the protagonist seeking answers to the unknown. Unilux Films’ thriller "Diamond Murders", directed by national award-winning director Ashoke Vishwanathan stars actors Rajit Kapur, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Simone Singh, Victor Banerjee, Raj Zutshi and others, saw an interesting shoot at BB Bungalow at Mudh Island।

Other than the quest for the mysterious coveted diamonds shots with Rajit Kapur, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Toby the four-legged detective assistant, an interesting underwater jewel sequence was also shot at the venue with Priyanshu Chatterjee and Simone Singh. While Rajit Kapur seemed to be changing from one guise to another, Priyanshu Chatterjee was haute and happening looking straight out of Tum Bin, while Kolkatta’s singing sensation June Bannerjee crooned for her video that starred Simone Singh.

Cinematographer Vivek Banerjee was at his trickiest best using camera techniques instead of the chroma to shoot double roles of Raj Zutshi, while director Ashoke Vishwanathan was seen talking about an interesting sequence where Sherlock Holmes comes to life in the Bollywood flick to meet Rajit Kapur. Now that is one interesting sequence, we are looking forward to checking out as well…

Mugdha steps out of ‘Jail’ to vote!

Now Mugdha Godse is one celebrity who has taken her rights and duties as a citizen very seriously!

Mugdha, who hails from Pune is currently shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Jail’ in Karjat. And when it was time to cast her vote during the Pune polls, the sexy model requested her director to spare her for half a day so that she could fulfill her responsibilities towards her country.

Madhur generously rescheduled the shoot so that Mughda could leave for her hometown. But that doesn’t mean Mugdha didn’t honour her professional commitment! The lady took off early in the morning to Pune, cast her vote and dutifully reported on the sets again by late afternoon.

Now that’s what we call keeping a fine balance!

Celina Jaitley who recently relaunched the gay magazine ‘Bombay Dost’ has been at the receiving end of the ire of Homophobes!

Ever since the re-launch of the defunct magazine a few days back, Celina has been inundated by mails on her official website. The support showed by Celina has triggered extreme reactions from people. Though there has been tremendous support from people all over the world, what has astounded the actress is that majority of these irate mails have come from women!!! These mails have gone on to call her names, use derogatory and abusive language and denounce her.

Celina elaborates saying, "Numerous intolerant and homophobic people have sent me abusive messages regarding my gay rights activism and launch of Bombay Dost on various websites including my own. It does not deter me from my cause but it saddens me that people have so much hatred not only towards sexual minorities but towards people who show them support. It is so unfortunate that people have not stopped their hatred against the gay community but have only learnt to mask it. My struggle has only just begun and I thank all those who stand by me in this human rights and human dignity issue.”

The actress who starred in the blockbuster ‘Golmaal Returns’, has always campaigned for the rights of gays and has actively supported them in every endeavour earning the epithet of the ‘Most Queer-friendly public icon’. Celina has extended her active support be it walking the streets hand in hand with the gays, protesting against the criminalization of homosexuality or setting up groups on her official website and social networking sites for people from all walks of life to lend their support and love.

This extreme reaction that her support for gays rights has elicited a stronger determination in this fiery lady to bring together all the supporters.

Taking all the flak in her stride she says unfazed, “Despite all the hate mail from all homophobic groups, I will not cease to continue what i started. I’ve learnt one thing in life - people even more than things have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed; never throw out anyone...”

For this, she solicits every supporter to join the communities promoting gay rights on her official website and on the social networking site Facebook so that every individual can exercise his / her right to their sexuality without fear of being marginalised.

Celina puts in a last word, “There are critics for everything a celebrity does so does that mean I must stop living and listening to my heart? I’m happy to do this for all my gay friends."

She ends with an appeal to all like-minded people - Just stand by me.

Amitabh Bachchan has always been a trend-setter, but this time he goes a step further by adding a personal touch to his character।

While planning a shoot for a special number for his forthcoming film ‘Aladin’, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, Mr. Bachchan suggested doing his own styling for the song’s picturisation.

Apparently Mr. Bachchan was extremely excited about the groovy track picturised on himself and Riteish Deshmukh and while planning the shoot for the peppy number, expressed his desire to contribute to the song in his very own way: by choosing his own outfit for it!

Of course, the director willingly agreed and Mr. Bachchan went on to chose a deep red velvet jacket which added that extra touch of grandeur to his already larger-than-life persona in the film.

Gauri debuts as Ice Maiden?

Gauri who makes her debut with FROZEN, a black & white film by Shivajee Chandrabhushan, sure seems to have developed cold feet! We mean quite literally!!!

The entire crew, while shooting for the film in Ladakh, in the harsh bitter winter faced really extreme conditions at the base of Rhizong. It had snowed the day before and the ice was slippery... and due to a scene, Gauri was made to stand in the snow at one place for almost 3-4 hours!!!

Needless to say, Gauri was close to tears after the scene, as the -25 degree temperature had seeped into her body and her shoes and socks had become wet!

But where there is a passion to prove oneself, no obstacle seems insurmountable!

No wonder the lady can pass of as the official ice maiden!

Tisca was present at the recently concluded IFFLA (Indian Film Festival of LA) where Firaaq won a special jury mention for stellar performances by an International Grand Jury.

What is amazing is that Taare Zameen Par was shown at IFFLA last year and was the highlight of the festival while Firaaq won a special Jury mention this year!

SHANKACHARYA CALLS MALLIKA SHERAWAT 'PURE SOUL'

Calling Mallika Sherawat "a pure soul," Shreemad Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji, the 36th and present pontiff of Shree Ramachandrapura math, made a special invitation to Mallika Sherawat to visit his new ashram in Karnataka and organized a number of special pujas in her honor.

The Shankaracharya brought a number of high priests from Kerala and Mangalore for the special occasion, which included Miss Sherawat breaking ground for the pontiff's Hanuman project at the cave the Shankaracharya says Lord Hanuman was born. Sherawat also initiated a new Hanuman temple on the site, where the largest Hanuman monument, over 15 stories, will be built.

Miss Sherawat received the Shankaracharya's invitation while staying in Los Angeles for the post-production of her new film "Hisss" and made the trip back to India especially for the occasion, which included extensive pujas with 600 lotus flowers.

Sherawat returned the sentiment by inviting Shankaracharya to the United States during her stay there. If the pontiff accepts her invitation to visit the U.S., it would be the first time in history a Shankaracharya traveled to America.

Sherawat said, "After having spent most of my time recently in the U.S., it was a great honor for me to make a special trip back to India to meet the Shankaracharya. In a very special way it reconnected me to my Hindu roots. The experience was truly one of the best of my life and one I will never forget."

कलर्स चैनल पर प्रसारित हो रहे धारावाहिक 'भाग्यविधाता' में फूल सिंह ने लिट्टी दरोगा का पावरफुल किरदार निभाया है। अभी तक निभाए गए किरदार से यह किरदार बहुत ही अलग किस्म का है।

इसके अलावा टी-सीरिज म्यूजिक कंपनी ने फूल सिंह का नया एलबम 'हरी भरोसे हिंदुस्तान' रिलीज किया है। इसमें उन्होंने अपनी गायकी के जलवा दिखाया है। इस एलबम के बारे में जानकारी देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि इसमें कुल आठ गीत हैं, जिन्हें विनय बिहारी ने लिखे हैं। इस एलबम में राजनेता की राजनीती पर कटाक्ष किया गया है। फूल सिंह का मानना है कि नेता आजकल बहुरूपी हो गए हैं, इसलिए उन्हें सावधान करना बहुत ही जरुरी है। साथ ही उनका कहना है कि राजनीती में युवाओं को मौका मिलना चाहिए। एलबम हरि भरोसे हिंदुस्तान में मुख्य गायक फूल सिंह है और सह गायिका इन्दु सोनाली व अपर्णा भागवत है। इस एलबम को संगीत से राजेश गुप्ता ने सजाया है।
